Phuket continues its commitment to infrastructure enhancements with island-wide bus services running from 6 am to 8 pm, everyday.

Affordable Phuket Transportation

Being a new resident to Phuket, I was quite pleased to learn of a new bus service that runs virtually throughout Phuket. The new Phuket Smart Bus start around Songkran 2562 (2018) and operates bus services from the Phuket International Airport and along the way down to Rawai. Bus stop locations are fixed, so you would need to obtain transportation to/from designated bus stops along the route.

Advice: Get a rabbit card at the airport. At the time of this writing, there is a 499 THB 3-day unlimited pass.

Payment is made via Rabbit card (mostly familiar to Bangkok residents) which can be purchased at the airport; you can purchase rides on the bus, however, you would be charged full fare each time.
